Founders
The founders of FREE AG are Thomas Rothenbacher and Bernhard Faber. Thomas is the sole managing director of FREE AG, while Bernhard is working as a lawyer in Frankfurt and Leipzig.
The word Founding is related to foundation – in both its meanings - physically and meta-physically.
The foundation of FREE AG within the observable realm, the tangible, or the part of the universe which can be experimentally described, was established on a warm spring afternoon in April 1994, when the two founders met for the first time in the Auditorium Maximum of the University of Constance. On a side note, the framework for this laying of the cornerstone of FREE AG was a lecture in public law by Prof. Hartmut Maurer, who for this – in addition to all his other achievements – deserve profuse thanks.
Thomas and Bernhard – in addition to their legal studies had developed several successful business ideas in the area of events and organisation of travel.
After their studies together in Constance, Thomas moved his seat of business to Stuttgart, while Bernhard journeyed to New York for five years, where he built a presence for a German publicly listed company.
However, the two friends never lost contact over the years and in the Summer of 2007 it became apparent that the foundation of experience, knowledge, contacts and economic independence was sufficiently built up to make FREE AG a reality.
Beside the obvious, FREE AG also stands for »FABER – ROTHENBACHER – EQUIPMENT AND ENGINEERING« and was founded in Stuttgart in May 2007.
IN addition to this foundation of FREE AG, which is derived from the life experiences of the founders, Thomas and Bernhard of course „found“ many other good reasons to create FREE AG.
These reasons are best understood as what Americans would probably call „art“. Built from logic, intuition and a certain vision and based on a solid philosophical foundation of enlightened Christian values. Thomas and Bernhard, with their business activities and jointly with their partners and employees, strive to transform exciting ideas into innovative products and never to lose sight of the most important foundation of their activities:
The joy of creating something truly extraordinary.
